Change Firefox address search engine provider

Somehow… my default search engine in Firefox defaulted to Bing, and I wanted to change it back to Google, so I figured I’d show ya’ll how to do it too!

Firefox Address Bar Search Engine Defaults

  1. In Firefox, type in about:config in the address bar, click “I’ll be careful, I promise”.
  2. Filter the results by typing in keyword.URL
  3. Modify the entry, with your preference:

Ask: http://www.ask.com/web?q=
Bing:  http://www.bing.com/search?FORM=IEFM1&q=
Google: http://www.google.com/search?&q=
Yahoo: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=

Close the About:config page, and you can now search from the address bar, using the search engine you set!
