Xobni – Out of Beta, and faster!

My favorite Outlook plug-in Xobni (Inbox spelled backwards) is now out of it’s beta stage, and is even faster (if that was even possible) at searching your inbox, and even indexing your PST files!

Some of Xobni features are:

Software I Like: TreeSize Free

Have you ever wondered what is taking up the most space on your hard drive(s)? It’s a pain to right click on each folder, getting the properties of each, just to see the size it’s taking up! Like it’s big bother, TreeSize Free gives you a tree view of your hard drive, showing you exactly what is taking up space. Can’t get any easier than that!

TreeSize Free comes in two versions: a “portable” .exe, and a full installer. If you install the full version, it also adds a right click context menu entry – allowing you to view the tree size of a certain folder, and it’s content.

For anyone, this is a great way to reclaim space on your drives!

Software I Like: Digsby

I use several Instant Message clients; Google Talk, MSN Messenger, AIM, Yahoo!, and Facebook. It can be quite a pain to have so many clients running on your machine, let me tell you! I’ve used a few IM clients in the past, but have been rather disappointed by them all.

Not anymore! I’ve been running Digsby for a few weeks now, and absolutely love it! Digsby brings ALL my IM protocols into one windows client. It is hands down the best IM client I have ever used!

OK, so it’s got a funky title, but man, let me tell you! UnLock For Us: WinBubble is the ULTIMATE tweaking tool for Windows Vista!

There are 7 full tabs of tweaks, many of which will greatly increase the performance of your Vista machine! I personally love the Context Menu (Right Click) add-ons! There are many of them, and very useful!

If you run Vista, this is the best tweaking software out there – and it’s Free!!!

Software I Like: InfraRecorder

Everyone needs a good CD/DVD burning program, but nobody really wants to pay a really good one like Nero! Don’t get me wrong, Nero is a great program, but if you just need a burning application, no frills, just does the job, then InfraRecorder is the one for you!

InfraRecorder has all of the best features of any retail burning app, but with the sweet price of free!

Create custom data, audio and mixed-mode projects and record them to physical discs as well as disc images.
Supports recording to dual-layer DVDs.
Blank (erase) rewritable discs using four different methods.
Record disc images (ISO and BIN/CUE).
Fixate discs (write lead-out information to prevent further data from being added to the disc).
Scan the SCSI/IDE bus for devices and collect information about their capabilities.
Create disc copies, on the fly and using a temporary disc image.
Import session data from multi-session discs and add more sessions to them.
Display disc information.
Save audio and data tracks to files (.wav, .wma, .ogg, .mp3 and .iso).

This is a great product, and have never had an issue while using it! I give it two thumbs up for sure!

Software I Like: Virtual CloneDrive

If you are a good nerd, you’ve downloaded some sort of CD / DVD image file, in in number of formats: .iso .bin .cue, and several other types. There are many ways to access these files, like burning them (as intended I suppose) or mounting them with a virtual device. I used to use Daemon Tools for everything, but I ran across Elby’s Virtual Clone Drive.

One of the coolest thing is that you can right click on the virtual CD/DVD drive, and choose to Mount or Unmount. Nothing runs in the tray, and I didn’t even have to restart my machine after installing!

Virtual CloneDrive is a free product from Elby, a company that offers cloning software.
