In a nutshell, it includes new features for:

Windows Home Server Connector Software

Windows Home Server Data Backup

Remote Access

Home Computer Backups

If you don’t have one yet, I would HIGHLY recommend getting yourself a Home server from HP (500 GB or 1 TB)

I know one thing, I’d like to have a TeraByte – plus all the other features – especially for only $750!!!

For those that have not heard of Microsoft Home Server, it is a special brand of Server, specifically for home use.

From Microsoft.com

This smart hub lives in your home and connects all the important people in your life to the good stuff that’s on your computers. You can pump your family’s tunes to your Xbox 360, share baby pics over the Web, and even get on your home server when you’re not home. Friends and family can see and share any files you want, whether they’re in another room or another country.

Features:

Restore files, folders, and entire computers easily

Secure your stuff with Automatic Backups

Monitor the health of your home PCs

Protect your files from prying eyes

Easily share from anywhere

Stream photos, music, and videos

Get to files easily

Share photos, music, and videos

Automatic backup of all Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista PCs on the network

Centralized storage of data and media files

Expandable disk drive capacity

Remote access to files and folders from the Internet

I had the pleasure of being a Beta Tester for Home Server, and it was really neat! Everything that home users need to be able to do was very easy. Setup was a breeze, and adding space was as simple as plugging in, and clicking Add.

No word yet on price, but given the functionality, it would be a great addition to any family.
